The State Library of NSW exists for the benefit and enjoyment of everyone who wishes to use its extensive range of services, collections, and facilities.
Work is underway to realise a master plan which will give our readers, researchers, students, and visitors unprecedented public access to the historic Mitchell building and to the extraordinary riches within.
This is the Library’s first major building project in the Mitchell in over 50 years, made possible through a strong collaboration between benefactors Michael Crouch AC and John B Fairfax AO, and the NSW Government.
Please stay in touch with us and follow the progress of this transformation.
