Rare pieces of Australian history heading to local primary schools

Thursday 16 May 2019

Extraordinary items from the State Library’s collection are heading to Bega and Eden, from 20 May 2019.

Some of the items include explorer Mathew Flinders' equipment list and a portrait of Bungaree, the first Australian to circumnavigate the continent with Flinders.

It's the first time these pieces of Australian history will be shown in these regions, as part of the Library's FAR Out! Treasures to the Bush initiative – connecting students and teachers to the Library's resources and learning services.
