Try webchat at LawAccess NSW

LawAccess NSW is a free government telephone service that provides legal information, referrals and in some cases, advice for people who have a legal problem in NSW.

As well as the telephone service, webchat is now available.Black box with the words Need Help? Start a chat with an information officer

You can start a chat by clicking on the chat icon or accepting a prompt to chat. Information Officers answer the chat requests in real time and provide legal information and referrals. 

The most common subjects that people are asking about on webchat are:

  • Debt
  • Motor vehicle damage
  • Fences/trees/animals
  • AVOs
  • Consumer matters
  • Parking offences/fines
  • Penalty notice/court fine
  • Wages/entitlements

Legal advice is not available via webchat. If you prefer to speak to someone, give LawAccess a call on 1300 888 529 Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.
