State Library of NSW — reopening FAQs

The State Library, including its two main reading rooms, are now open.

The Library is complying strictly with the Public Health (COVID-19 General) Order 2021 which requires all staff and visitors (aged 16 or over) to be fully vaccinated, to check in using the Service NSW app, and to wear a face mask at all times. Vaccination records will be checked on entry.

The 1 person per 2 sqm rule applies in all public and staff areas. Please see special conditions of entry here.

The Library's temporary opening hours are:

  • Monday to Thursday, 9 am to 6 pm
  • Friday to Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm

The Map Rooms and Galleries are open.

The Library Cafe is open every day until 3 pm.

The Library Shop is open from 9 am to 5 pm from Monday to Thursday and 10 am to 5 pm Friday to Sunday.
